A recent review from Andrew Caillard MW – 1998 Grange is looking great right now. At the recent Rewards of Patience tasting in London, it stood up brilliantly well. Drinking well now but a long career ahead.

Deep crimson. Classic pure blackberry dark chocolate, mocha aromas with hint of panforte/ fresh tobacco/ liquorice. Beautifully concentrated blackberry, dark chocolate flavours, velvety/ chalky firm textures and fresh long aniseed notes, Finishes crisp and chocolaty with sumptuous dark berry fruits. One of the greatest vintages.
97 percent shiraz, 3 percent cabernet sauvignon. Kalimna Vineyard (Barossa Valley), Barossa Valley, Magill Estate (Adelaide) and Padthaway.
Dark ruby garnet, delicate water edge. Extremely seductive bouquet, intense ethereal nuances of peppermint and eucalyptus, hints of blueberries, chocolatey notes, multi-faceted. Substantial, chocolaty, round and harmonious, perfect tannins, sweet and never-ending, fine acid structure in the finish, mineral-salty in the aftertaste, doesn’t stop. Great culinary delights. Peter Moser – Falstaff 100/100
